CAR CAMPING IN KODACHROME BASIN STATE PARK

Friday, April 12 – Sunday April 14

Our spring car camp will take place in Kodachrome Basin State Park, which is near Bryce Canyon, but at a lower elevation.  It features several hiking trails through spectacular red rock canyons with arches and spires.  It has a well-developed campground with hot showers.  Kodachrome Basin State Park can be reached by following Utah’s Scenic Byway Route 12 to Cannonville then south seven miles on a newly surfaced road.  Allow about 6 hours driving time from Salt Lake.

We have reserved one of the group campsites.  Our campsite can easily accommodate over 25 people, with an upper limit of 100.  Please bring $10 per person to cover the cost of the campground. (It is normally $12 per day)

Arrive after 3:00pm on Friday afternoon when our group campsite becomes available.  Saturday evening will be our traditional potluck dinner, so bring something tasty to share with the group.  Come enjoy this beautiful part of Southern Utah with your friends in the Lambda Hiking Club.

More information about Kodachrome Basin State Park is available at the following web site:  http://www.stateparks.utah.gov/parks/www1/koda.htm

Please register for this trip online at  www.gayhike.org/april_trip.htm or call Randy at 532-8447.
