QFX East Presents New Multi-Fandom LGBTQ+ Convention in Florida

From May 13 to 15 at the Hilton Tampa Downtown, panels, workshops and signing sessions bring together celebrities, fans and creators

TAMPA, Florida., March 30, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The LGBTQ+ community deserves different kinds of conventions – inclusive, accessible, safe and empowering. QFX East will bring together queer fans and allies to celebrate their favorite on-screen characters and stories.

QFX East’s exciting range includes batman Meagan Tandy (Sophie), Rachel Skarsten (Alice) and Valais Day (Kate); lost girls Anna Silk (Bo) and Zoe Palmer (Lauren); At Wynonna Earp’s Kat Barrel (Nicole); Reign Adelaide Kane (Mary, Queens of Scots) and Homeland: Fort Salem Arlen Aguayo-Stewart (nicte), Demetria McKinney (Anacostia), Diana Pavlovska(willa), Ess Hödlmoser (M) and Taylor Hickson (Raelle). comedians Arryn Zech of RWBY and by Steven Universe Erica Lutrell will also be present.

QFX Events, the convention promoter, was born out of the need for more accessible and queer-friendly events in the convention scene, especially in the South. With florida With the recently signed ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill signed into law, it’s now more important than ever to build safe and welcoming spaces where LGBTQ+ voices can be amplified instead of silenced.

“Some feared that continuing our event in Tampa would send the wrong message to our community, says Holly Winebarger, founder and chief programming officer of QFX Events, on the company’s decision to move forward despite harmful anti-LGBTQ legislation. “We want to add spaces that people need, not remove them.”

Participants will have the opportunity to take photos, autographs and meet privately with their favorite actors, including:

Panels, workshops and meetups will also connect fans with content creators such as Emilie Andras (Wynonna Earplost girl), Christine Boulanger (A bakery production) and Hillary Esquina (Passage). In addition to celebrity guest panels, other discussions will focus on representing minority media, creating web series, and how to pitch your ideas in the industry. QFX East will also have a vendor room with queer artists showcasing their crafts, clothing and more. Other events include a VIP guest night, games night and a queer ball, the official Saturday night afterparty of the event.

Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, QFX East will operate as a hybrid convention, also offering virtual passes as well as online experiences with most guests in attendance.

The tickets are $150 during the three days ($50 for the virtual pass); VIP and day tickets also available.
