Two students detained for extorting money from a gay man by threatening him with a sex film recorded in Coimbatore

Chenai: Coimbatore City Police arrested two students for extorting money from a gay man by involving him in a homosexual act, filming the act and threatening him with the recorded visual. Police are also looking for the third student who was also involved in the crime.

According to a report by The Times of India, the two people arrested were identified as S Prasath (19) and M Nishanth (22), both from Sivananda Colony in Coimbatore. The police are on the prowl to find a Manickam.

Police say Prasath, Nishanth and Manickam using a popular gay social networking app, Blued, invited a 34-year-old gay man to stand near a hospital in Saibaba settlement.

On March 27, Prasath traveled to Saibaba settlement and met the man. He was later involved in homosexual acts in a secluded area near a train station around 2:30 a.m. with him.

At the same time, Nishanth and Manickam recorded a video of the act and within minutes began threatening the man with a knife. They then snatched his mobile phone and took Rs 2,500 in cash.

They also threatened to release the video on social media if he went to the police and said he should continue to provide money whenever they ask.

However, the man filed a complaint with the Saibaba Colony, Regina Police Inspector against the trio.

Following this, Saibaba settlement police arrested Prasanth on Sunday and Nishanth on Monday. They’re on the lookout for Manickam.
