The Townsend Smith Foundation is a charity working to build a hospice for North Halton, as there are currently no hospice residences in Acton, Georgetown or Milton.
For many years, the foundation has raised funds through events and donors to raise awareness in the community about the need for hospice.
Recently, the foundation entered into an agreement with Hillcrest United Church to purchase the church property and redevelop the site to build a 10-bed community hospice, bringing them one step closer to establishing a hospice in North Halton.
