Sonoma County’s Gay Wine Weekend returns after a two-year hiatus to bring more boozy brunches, wine tastings, parties and more!
Pack your bags and get ready to celebrate Sonoma’s famous party Gay Wine Weekend! From July 15-17, guests can experience Sonoma County in a truly remarkable way, filled with activity, community and, of course, world-class wine. From Friday to Sunday, the weekend offers a packed itinerary that includes everything from wine tours to pool parties and brunch. Here’s a look at some of the best events going on.
Friday – Winegrower Dinner
Seven wineries will host extravagant dinner parties that perfectly pair their delicious cuisine with fantastic wines. One of the many choices includes a meal at Layla at MacArthur Place. There, diners can enjoy a sophisticated Mediterranean-inspired dinner using local ingredients. The dinner will feature wines from Three Sticks Wines.
A new addition to the dinner lineup this year is hosted by Williams Sonoma, which is developing an all-vegetable meal, the first in the history of Gay Wine Weekend. The meal will be accompanied by vegan wines from Knights Bridge Wine Cellar. For a full list of restore options, click here.
Saturday – Twilight T-Dance
Held at the beautiful Château Saint-Jean wine estate, the annual Twilight T-Dance is the weekend’s must-attend event. Watch the sun set beyond the Sonoma Hills, while dancing, drinking and dining with a diverse community of guests from around the world.
A VIP reception takes place at 5:30 p.m., featuring the culinary delights of Chef Chad de Classic kitchen, then, at 6:30 a.m., the party begins. Complete with a dance floor, disco ball and LA’s own DJ Ryan Kenney, the T-Dance is a unique and enjoyable event. Throughout the night, food trucks will be on site and a collection of Sonoma wines will be on offer.
Sunday – Drag Brunch “Recovery”
After a night of dancing and drinking, wake up to brunch…and After drink at Sunday “recovery” brunch. No Sunday is complete without brunch, and what better way to wake up after a long night than with the help of some hilarious drag queens?
Taking place at Lodge in Sonoma from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., brunch is a good way to share stories from the weekend, to eat, to taste some mimosas. The brunch will be led by sought-after queen of San Francisco, Ruby Red Munro. Even better, the brunch will also feature a wine auction, with proceeds benefiting Face to facea Sonoma non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
