BHADERWAH, September 12: The week-long “Hiking and Trekking Expedition”, organized by the Sports and Physical Education Department of the University of Jammu in collaboration with the Bhaderwah Campus, has ended here today.
The expedition took place at the local grassland treks of Bhaderwah and Seog where 40 students from the University of Jammu and different colleges affiliated to the University of Jammu participated in this event.
As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, a cleanliness campaign was conducted at different places in Seog grasslands during the expedition.
Rector of Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. Rahul Gupta commended the Department of Sports and Physical Education for organizing such an event. “Bhaderwah campus will also provide all assistance for such events in the future as well, he said.
He added that the way the students navigated the difficult tracks of Seog, Kailash Kund and other difficult terrain is very appreciable.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director of Sports and Physical Education Directorate, thanked Rector Bhaderwah Campus for his collaboration in the event. “These kinds of events help young people stay away from anti-social activities like drugs,” he added.
The officials present at the occasion were Arif Khateeb, ERO Bhaderwah Campus, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Arshad Baba and Sumit Sharma.
